Are You Being Served?

This comedy series, which follows the exploits of employees at London's Grace Brothers department store, is full of sexual innuendo, slapstick, visual gags and double entendres. Much of the show's humor parodies Britain's class system, with the characters rarely calling their co-workers by their given names. Many of the show's characters are based on stereotypes, including the effeminate Mr. Humphries and the rich-but-stingy store owner.

As Time Goes By

Jean Pargetter and Lionel Hardcastle are former lovers whose lives intersect again 40 years after they lost touch with each other. Lionel is now divorced, and Jean is a widow with an adult daughter, Judith, who works in Jean's secretarial office. As Lionel works on a memoir with a cheerful but brash agent, Alistair, he begins to rekindle the tender romance with the woman who got away all those years ago. Cheering them on is Sandy, Judith's best friend and co-worker.

Doc Martin

Is there a dyspeptic doctor in the house? Successful surgeon Dr. Martin Ellingham abruptly leaves his London practice to become general practitioner in the sleepy fishing village of Portwenn, where he spent the holidays during his youth. But his luxury car and lavish wardrobe immediately rub the locals the wrong way, and once they get a load of his abrasive attitude and lack of bedside manner, he quickly alienates most of the townsfolk.

The Doctor Blake Mysteries

Accompanied by haunting memories of his service time in World War II, Dr Lucien Blake returns home to Australia after 30 years to take over his deceased father's medical practice. As he deals with his own personal loss and changed by his war experiences, the wry, personable doctor performs his other role as police surgeon with gusto. His unconventional and unpredictable manner unnerve some, but it becomes clear Dr Blake is ahead of his time in his use of forensic science, and in his own understanding of the human heart, to help solve murder mysteries in the country town of Ballarat.

Doctor Who

"Doctor Who" is a classic science-fiction series with a cult following. The Doctor is called a "Time Lord," a time-traveling scientist from a far off planet, who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. The Doctor loves Earth, so he makes many trips here to save the planet, or to enlist earthlings to help him with tasks in the galaxy.

The Durrells in Corfu on Masterpiece

This six-part adaptation of Gerald Durrell's "My Family and Other Animals" and its two sequels features Keeley Hawes as Louisa Durrell, a widow who moves her family from England to the Greek island of Corfu in 1935. The miniseries -- inspired by the real-life adventures of Durrell's family -- also features Josh O'Connor as eldest son, Larry; newcomer Callum Woodhouse as son Leslie; Daisy Waterstone as teenage daughter Margo, and Milo Parker as 11-year-old Gerry. Alexis Georgoulis, Yorgos Karamihos and Ulric von der Esch round out the cast.

Foyle's War

He is dogged in his pursuit of justice, honest to a fault and frequently underestimated by his opponents. Together with his sergeant and his driver, Foyle wages his own war on crime.

A repackaged version of the BBC series "Spooks," "MI-5" follows a counterterrorism unit based in the highly secure suite of offices called The Grid, where Harry Pearce oversees the team and deals with the often dirty politics of the spy game.

Midsomer Murders

Based on the crime-novel series by author Caroline Graham, "Midsomer Murders" follows the efforts of Detective Chief Inspector John Barnaby to solve crimes that occur in the wealthy, isolated English county of Midsomer, a picturesque and peaceful place on the outside but one filled with amoral and snobbish eccentrics with all kinds of vices. His latest assistant is Detective Sergeant Jamie Winter. DCI Barnaby took over in series 14, replacing his older cousin, Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, who retired.

A London restaurateur inherits a run-down Scottish estate.

New Tricks

A BBC production, "New Tricks" dramatizes the work of the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad, led by Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman and three previously retired police officers -- Gerry Standing, Jack Halford and Brian Lane -- whom Pullman recruited to reinvestigate unsolved crimes.

Ordinary Lies

This drama series follows the lives of a group of friends and colleagues who work together in a car showroom. Each episode focuses on the story of one employee at JS Motors, including receptionists Tracy and Viv, company boss Mike, PA Kathy and salesmen Pete and Marty. One day, their otherwise ordinary lives take a turn when staff members find themselves in desperate circumstances in which they are compelled to lie, but as lies spiral out of control they find themselves facing worse consequences. Finding it difficult to keep his job due to timekeeping issues is Marty. After another late arrival into work he resorts to telling everyone a terrible lie to excuse himself.

This all-new version of the vintage Masterpiece series stars Aidan Turner as Capt. A Mammoth Screen production, the series is packed with action, adventure and romance. Also featured are Eleanor Tomlinson as servant Demelza, Warren Clarke as Uncle Charles, and Heida Reed as Elizabeth Chenoweth. Robin Ellis, who portrayed Ross Poldark in the original adaptation 40 years ago, appears here as Reverend Halse.
